My piece for the 2013 edition of the Monsters and Dames charity art book, available only at Emerald City Comicon next spring! I’m a sucker for WWI-era military propaganda posters, aviatrix history, and dragons, so combining them seemed like a fine idea.
My notion was that some of the most useful dragons for warfare would be small and maneuverable, a bit like the biplanes that dropped small bombs and engaged in aerial dogfights in WWI. Pilots of a smaller and lighter build than your average Red Baron would be needed to maximize how far and long such a dragon could fly, and so who better to pilot that kind of dragon than ladies? I ASK YOU.

My piece for the “Monsters and Dames” book, a themed collected of art by exhibitors at the 2012 Emerald City Comicon. Many contributions involve super-sexy ladies being menaced, so I tried for a slightly sweeter and more oblique take.
EDIT:  Some folks have asked me if there’s a print available of this image. Yup! It’s right here in the ole’ store.
